We made it to Arlington, Washington last night. Where is that? It's about 40 minutes up I-5 from Seattle. Gorgeous country, with snow capped peaks in the not too far-off distance and swathes of wetlands filled with tall grasses. Stunning landscape. And.....suburban strip malls.
This is our second year here, and after attending about a dozen travel-to-vend events, this one has the nicest hotel. No, really! The staff here is so helpful, last year when we were done with the set-up on Friday night and headed to the lounge for a drink and a snack, the kitchen had closed before all of the vendors could arrive and our bartender made us a huge salad herself so that we would have something to share and not have to hit any fast food joint that night.
They remembered me from last year and also were able to handle with accuracy the fact that we have two different rooms for two different numbers of days on the same credit card but for two different people. When I tried this same thing for only one night at a hotel in Tacoma two weeks ago, it was a complete nightmare. There's an onsite spa, nice pool, beautiful koi, very well appointed rooms...I love it here!
If you are ever in Arlington be sure to stay at the Medallion Inn. It's right off the freeway and the sign is a little difficult to find, but you will be impressed. We're off to breakfast and to the local Target to get a mirror for the booth. And some much needed coffee. Further details as warranted.
