Just
discovered this blog. It's uplifting and depressing, happy and sad. Why
not share your story and post it here? The strength and power in our
community comes from sharing experiences and finding common ground.

Have you seen the new Lane Bryant ad? It's got people talking. Writing about it for Oprah.com, Karen Salmansohn
asks, "Does sexy have a size?". I'm excited to see people talking
about this, and even more excited to hear it talked about in a way that
isn't just saying that 'skinny is ugly and fat is sexy'. These black
and white presentations ALWAYS miss the point. Sexiness and size are
unrelated. Period. This is at the very core of what MagidahWear
stands far. What are your thoughts?

I'm always
encouraged when I find indications that society is becoming more
accepting of curves, and that fashion and design houses are starting to
recognize that just because a girl is curvy doesn't mean she doesn't
want to look good. This idea that women come in all kinds of different
shapes and sizes is at the core...
of the MagidahWear design philosophy. That said, I'm really looking
forward to a time when we can talk about 'curves' without it being a
euphemism for 'large'. Just because a girl is curvy doesn't mean she's
plus-sized. We have plenty of customers buying our Lavish and Dazzling
sizes... these girls are curvy, but they aren't big. Plus is a size,
curvy is a shape. They aren't the same. Until that great Booty
Revolution happens, here's some lovely reading for your fashion-minding
pleasure! http://www.skorchblog.com/

MagidahWear is not about size, it's about shape. We reject the 'plus size' label,
because you don't have to be big to have curves. That said, we always appreciate it when a major media outlet reminds the world just how sexy curves really are, no matter what they call it.

Just FYI, this shoot may be a little racy for the workplace, so exercise caution if you're in the office.

Well, it's Love your Body day, but I think the number one thing women hate about their bodies is their derriere. We all cheered when J Lo became famous and brought rounded backsides into vogue. But some of us are rounder than others and we need to know that it's all good! The National Organization of Women is sponsoring Love Your Body Day in October -- so you've got a few months to get on board. Start by finding one nice thing to say about your body every day and love thy booty!
